About Cary Senior Tech Ed

Cary Senior Tech Ed's mission is to provide older adults education for, and access to computer and internet technologies to enhance their lives and enable them to share their knowledge and wisdom.

Nowadays, almost all of us need to check a Web Site or send an Email. Our objective is to help you learn how to use computers and other personal devices in your everyday life no matter your age.

Our classes are given year-round during the day from Monday to Friday at the Cary Senior Center. Classes are given in the following rooms:

  • Computer Lab: Handles up to twelve students per class with hands-on learning. Each student has their own computer workstation.
  • Lecture Room 302: Handles up to 26 students in a lecture format with presentations shown on a wall-mounted 80" digital TV.

We provide:

  • hands-on classes and seminars with your peers and taught by your peers,
  • one instructor and two coaches per class, and
  • up-to-date computers and technology for learning and practice.
  • High Speed internet is provided on all work stations and WIFI through out the center.

Our Volunteers and How to Become One

The Cary Senior Tech Ed program is staffed entirely by Senior Volunteers (50+). Most volunteers serve as instructors and/or coaches. Others also provide planning, technical and administrative support services.

Cary Senior Tech Ed always welcomes new volunteers, instructors and coaches. If you would like to become a volunteer or discuss volunteer opportunities just fill out our volunteer application form and tell us more about yourself.
