• Volunteers are here to help you learn and resolve your technology problems.
• By submitting a Help Request, one of our volunteers will contact you to freely share their expertise in solving your technical problem.
• We have expertise in Microsoft Windows, Apple products(iOS, iPhones, iPads), Android devices(smart phones, tablets, etc.), Chromebooks and Linux.
• We can also help you in a variety of other areas such as: social media, Facebook, Twitter, Cutting the Cable, Streaming, Smart Homes, Internet Security, home network & Home Surveillance.
• Help is provided by our volunteers for free on a "best effort" basis and does not guarantee that all problems will be fixed. However, we do have an extensive level of expertise to be shared.
• Per our charter, we provide technology education to help you resolve technology issues.

CSTE

• CSTE Classes on RecTrac - Click on this link to go to RecTrac. This is a pre-filtered list to show all our CSTE classes presently listed on RecTrac. No searching needed.
• How to find CSTE classes on RecTrac - This will direct you to our web page which will show you, step by step, how you can search for all our CSTE classes presently scheduled by the Town of Cary. You will see which filters to set to display CSTE classes.
• How to Register for Classes - This will show you how to get a USERID on RecTrac so you can signup for classes. Once you have your RecTrac logon, you may register for any classes the Town of Cary teaches. (CSTE, Exercise, Trips, etc.)
• CSTE-All Classes we Teach - This will direct you to our CSTE web site, caryseniorteched.org, where you can see the full library of classes and topics we offer. Classes are offered during three teaching semesters through out the calendar year.(Summer, Fall, and Spring) Once they are released in RecTrac, they become available for signup.
  Note: You can NOT sign up for classes on our CSTE WEBSITE. You must use RecTrac.

• Cary Senior Center Info - This is the Town of Cary's web page for Cary senior center specific information.
• RecTrac - This directs you to the Town of Cary's class signup website showing all classes presently available. This includes all disiplines from exercise to CSTE education classes. You will need to create an ID to register for any classes.

• Free help is available on WebEx and Zoom video conferencing.
• WebEx - User's guide on how to use WebEx. Describes all the basic functions and installation of WebEx. Includes how to setup a free WebEx account and hold personal WebEx conferences.
• WebEx App Download - This is a shortcut to the WebEx.com downloads page. Here you can quickly download the lattest WebEx App for your device. It can be used for a new installation of WebEx or a simple upgrade to the latest app version.
• Zoom - User's guide on how to use Zoom. Describes all the basic functions and installation of Zoom. Includes how to setup a free Zoom account and hold personal Zoom conferences.
• Zoom App Download This is a shortcut to the Zoom.us downloads page. Here you can quickly download the lattest Zoom App for your device. It can be used for a new installation of Zoom or a simple upgrade to the latest app version.
• Free Video Conferencing help can be scheduled by simply submitting a help request. (Just click on the Help Request link above.)

   As we help users fix problems, we compile common results into a FAQ file for your reference. As problems and solutions are encountered, they are added to the FAQ document. Check here often as new information is being added all the time.

Networking & Browser Privacy

• Browser Privacy Test - This tests how secure and private your browser is & calculates how unique your web ID fingerprint is, to prevent companies from tracking you. Works with all browsers. (For Firefox, use a private browsing window for best security. Use: CTL-SHIFT-P)
• Privacy Badger Ext - This is one very good browser extension to increase the browsing privacy of your preferred WEB browser. Supports FireFox, Chrome, IE, Edge and some Android browsers on your phone or tablet.
• SpeedTest.net - This will check the performance of your internet connection using the "Speedtest.net" web site. (Important for movie streaming and debugging home network performance.)
• Fast.com - This will check the performance of your internet connection using the "Fast.com". Several passes will be averaged before results are shown. Be sure to click the "Show more info" button for upload speeds.
• Speakeasy.net - This will also check the performance of your internet connection using the "Speakeasy" web site. (Another well established network performance monitoring web site.)
• Public IP Address - This is your public internet IP address that web sites see. (Handy for checking your VPN service.(DH))
